Space-wise, the Wasatch offers 720 cubic inches of storage, with a sizable main compartment, an expandable front stretch-mesh pocket large enough for extra layers or a helmet, dual stretch-mesh waist-belt pockets with cargo stabilizer loops, side mesh pockets, and a front pocket with a mesh organizer. The pack is also hydration compatible, with a hydration sleeve, exit port, and tube management system. And to keep the pack compressed and snug against your back while you hike or ride, the Wasatch includes an internal on-the-fly compression system. Company founder Wayne Gregory–who designed his first backpack at 14 as part of a Boy Scout project–opened Gregory Mountain Products in 1977 in San Diego, California.
