For the beginner choosing a mountain bike pretty much comes down to a couple of factors, what type of riding will they be doing and where do they live. Depending on your preference of riding, the bike you choose will most likely come from one of these categories: cross country, freeride, Dirt jumping, or downhill. There will be many options to choose from within these categories, but the basic concept of the bikes within each category remains the same.
Cross Country
Probably the most popular mountain bike is the cross country bike. This bike is involves riding bike up and down mountains and in hilly areas. It is one of the most difficult type of mountain biking but there are riders who are fit and go on long rides in these mountains. The reason for this is that Cross Country Bike are built to be extremely light in weight. this is that it makes it much easier to ride this type of mountain bike over hills and steeper and rougher terrain, without having to get off and walk.
Downhill
Downhill mountain biking means racing down the mountains with a bike. Downhill bikes are just to go downhill. These bike built will almost always have heavy duty front and rear suspensions and full-on disc brakes. These bikes is the fastest for way down nothing beats a downhiller no matter how rough the trail is.
Dirt jumping
Dirt jumping is bike that involves jumping the bike over man made dirt jumps and then doing tricks while they are in the air. These bikes designed with the sole purpose of hitting jumps. Basic designed are similar to normal mountain bikes however they usually come with just suspension on the front. But mostly without аnу rear suspension along wіth fаѕt-rolling, slick аnd semi-slick tires.
Freeride
These types of bike competitions are very popular involves finding the perfect path down the mountain using all of the terrains. Freeride bikes are tough and designed to go through some rough off road terrain. Design of Bike is made to take jumps and perform stunts as well as ride some rough off road trails. This bike is very popular among bikers as riders can show their expertise and fitness.
After giving it some type, you can take decision about exactly what type of mountain bike is going to be best suited for you.
