A little sampling of how we’ve been spending the non-frozen months. The marauding kids were filmed in a ger district just north of UB. They were actually trying to help Tim up the mountain, but started pulling on his bike so he had to make a daring escape. All else was on Bogd Khan mountain south of town.
where they crossed the Colorado River to Lake Pagahrit. This trail goes from Cottonwood Canyon on Lake Powell up to the top of Grey Mesa and then across slick rock to the remains of Lake Pagahrit. We thought we could ride this trail on mountain bikes from Lake Powell to Lake Pagahrit in a day and a half. Hah! We were wrong! By the time we got off of Grey Mesa (half-way point)our time (day and a half)and our food were gone and my wife didn’t know where we were and was about ready to call …
does anybody know a bicycle shop near bishan or anywhere which can change a brake for very old mountain bikes like mine cause my brakes is spoilt and it is metal(I mean the brakes near the wheel not the lever) and know it’s very hard to find a shop which can sell me some brakes compatible for my mountain bike.
I’ll be in Paradise Valley for Thanksgiving ’08 and wanted to explore some of the trails out there. Are there local trails with good variety of riding styles nearby? Looking for single tracks, decent climbs, technical descents and all around exciting fun trails — no fire roads please. I’d be interested in tagging along if anyone was planning on riding at that time.
