  1. There was a click in the crankshaft that was loud enough to be heard while riding and felt by the foot through the left pedal every 360 degrees of pedal rotation.

I purhased a crank puller tool for $21.44 (incl tax), a crank wrench for $18.18 (incl. tax), and grease for $6.38 to repair this brand new bicycle.

Upon disassembly I found two (2) metal shavings, each about 0.25 inches in size, that appeared to be from drilling. I have saved the two (2) metal shavings.

I removed the metal shavings, cleaned and re-greased, and the clicking noise and vibration was fixed.

Since this was a brand new bicycle, it would seem reasonable to reimburse me for the tools required to repair it. The total cost, not including and labor, is $46.00.

  2. Ordered this bike as a birthday gift for my son to only find out that the bike was not in stock and is on back order, and would not be available till the end of June or later. Both Amazon.com and the vendor site listed shiping and product arrival date frames that were completely false. I had to cancel the order and then take my son shopping locally for a bike so that he could have one by his birthday. When I talked to someone at The Sportsman’s Guide (the vendor) that person simply made excuses and didn’t seem very contrite about misleading us.

The bike does seem to offer a lot for the price, but if you plan on ordering it, I suggest you first call them and ask them if the projuct is in stock at Kawasaki which direct ships from the manufacturer.

I’ve always had great success with orders from Amazon.com but not in this case. A very dissapointing situation and hope that they drop this vendor if they have a history of doing this sort of thing. Maybe this is an isolated situation that they can make sure doesn’t happen. I’m all for second chances.

I’ve owned this bike for over a year and used it for everything from easy rides to a 25 mile race (a lot of hard trail riding). First of all Amazon is great! The price was excellent especially for the quality. After riding bikes by other big names, I would say the quality is comparable to a bike in the $500 to $750 range. I’m very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend. One suggestion, get a better seat right away.

First off this bike is a steal, the price doesn’t begin to match the quality.

2nd The frame is excellent the bike is light(same weight as it’s $2k counterparts)!!! I have jumped off of 4 foot walls and park benches.I have wrecked it into concrete floors it still holds up fine.

Dont let these ignorant arroagant fanboy consumers sway you!!

The american Bike market is monopolized and the price of MTN bikes have been pushed up to make a lucrative profit from(over price like real estate)..

DONT fall into this BS scheme.Get a bike that doesn’t cost 2G’s that weighs the same has same frame material. And buy your own parts if you dont like the one it came with..(you will save thousands)

I did !and i can atest that MTN biking shouldn’t be only for Rich arrogant Yuppie.(the best free ride MTN bikers were orignally BMXer who rode affordable 300 dollar bikes and got sponsors!! not rich yuppies flakes.

I road a Haro BMX till i got a Sponsor to beef my Bikes up 2 of which is a Kawasaki and Mongoose.and they didn’t cost me $2-3 thousand!!!

    This bike is excellent .

Just get new pedals and perhaps change the spring and get front handle bars upgrades and you have Pro quality bike!!

I bought this bike when it was on sale for 100 dollars. This is a very good bike with front disk brakes and full suspension. My only complain is that the seat is really cheap and uncomfortable. The reason why I gave this one star is because the derailer was crooked and broken. When you put torque on the pedals, the gears click and your feet jumps forward.

This can cause serious injuries. Now I have to go to a bike shop to get it fixed.
