There are, I rode it the last weekend it was open before the winter and it was chaos for the first 5 miles or so from the Mt Rose Highway, but once you get out there its really not that crowded, and when youre enjoying the scenery you hardly notice it. Great ride, 4 stars for the view of Tahoe alone

Flume is awesome. One of the best scenic rides in the country if you do it early season on a week day. It gets sandy late in the season and on a weekend there are way too many people.

    I’m missing Tahoe!

Isn’t BBTC a WA based club? Or did you guys expand to CA?

Thanks for the post. I rode that a few years ago and wanted to show people what it was like.

That stretch around 4:00s is pretty “interesting”. We stopped there for a drink and I wanted to adjust my brakes a little. When we got home, I noticed that after I put down my screwdriver I didn’t pick it up again.

I guess I was too busy not falling to notice that I picked up the wrong thing. Instead, I brought back an original hand-made iron flume trail nail!
